Commissioned by the Royal Pharmaceutical Society, to help support community pharmacy teams in educating customers about the signs, symptoms and care of strep A and scarlet fever, this self care aware fact sheet is freely available to everyone interested in understanding more about this infection, which largely affects children but anyone at anytime can get it.
At the end of 2022, an increased number of cases of the infections was noted and most likely due to higher numbers of the bacteria circulating in the population, along with social mixing after the COVID-19 pandemic.
Understanding what to do, and how it can be transmitted can stop it from spreading more widely in the population.
