Georgie Oldfield MCSP is a leading physiotherapist and chronic pain specialist promoting a pioneering approach to resolving chronic pain through her Chronic Pain Recovery Programme and SIRPA, the training organisation she founded.
SIRPA is a training organisation dedicated to training and supporting clinicians as they integrate the SIRPA approach into their own work, while also promoting the concept that chronic pain is often due to learned neural circuits that have become sensitised, rather than due to a physical abnormality. With this understanding and by addressing the underlying causes of pain persisting, which includes stress, injustice, past trauma, fear, rumination, faulty beliefs about pain, personality traits and learned behaviours etc, often full recovery is possible and the pain circuits can be reversed. As well as working clinically and training health professionals, Georgie writes about the concept and approach and is also often invited to speak at public events about her work.
